April 21st - finally getting transferred

Tuve cambios hoy! (I have updates)
J P Alessandri es mi sector nuevo. Something notable about my sector is that COLO COLO (fùtbol team) plays here and in Chile, you`re either a Colo Colo fan ò de la U (de chile). But I have about 6 hours in my new sector. It was super sad to say goodbye to everyone in the ward yesterday, I will send you a few fotos. There were some cool things that happened yesterday, though. One of them is that our Less-Active, Hna M_____ G_____ went to one of our  church activities yesterday. An Easter Activity, or as they say here, la Pascua de la Resurrecion, Hna M____ hadnt been to church since she was 14 years old. Although it technically wasn't Sacrament meeting, she came to church and loved the presentation by the choir. She is 54 years old. and our goal since the beginning of working in El Parque was to bring her to church- She also knew it was my last Sunday. Not only that, but after the presentation, Someone came and put their arms around me from behind. Her daughter, A____ was there, she too is a less-active. I didn't think that I would be able to see her before I left because she left for the weekend, but knowing that I would be leaving, she came and met us at church. She and her mom got to see the Easter Presentation. I said good-bye to a lot of the members here. I have been in El Parque for over 8 Mon.
Glad to see that K and Dad were able to visit the Hathaways this past week. And that you stopped by to visit hna coley! she looks well and happy!! and Sister Dodd got her Call!!!! Wow, I cant believe it! havent heard of Because of Him but sounds cool.

Alex- how cool with the Boston Marathon. you are right Bstrong!!!!!
Dad- i love you and I live right next to a post office now. you will all be getting letters soon

I too want to let you know how much I love the Easter Season to celebrate the resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I know He lives and He came to do the will of His Father. And that Our Heavenly Father not only had the love of His Son in mind, but the love for us. He left us with a special gift, the Holy Ghost, to remind us of His love.
I love you all and am grateful for the examples that you are to me, I hope you have a great week!

Words of Mormon 1:7

Hola Familia
First, I want to tell K, FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS!!! I hope it was wonderful and that you could enjoy it a little. We celebrated it over here by having a lot of lessons with Menos Activos haha. Second (which is directed towards K) Hermana Ekins -from the other companionship- wants to go to your Tech party. She is from Missouri, and wants to be your friend but I have told many stories of KJB and everyone wants to know you, K.

We celebrated New Years at the Bishop´s house up until 10:30. We also watched Fireworks up until 12 from our balcony. We are still teaching Rosa, but it has been hard because she hasn´t been reading the Book of Mormon. We were able to have a lesson with her and the Bishop´s family where she could really feel the Spirit. And a few days later had a lesson on Baptism with little results. Ugh... stressful.

But with this and said scripture above, Both Hermana Salazar and I can say that we are at work in the Lord´s timing. We are doing what we can, and with that we can always do better. It feels like a matter of trial and error right now, but we can really have joy in the positive miracles that each day brings us despite what might seem like hardships.

There hasn´t been a lot happening other than that. A few new investigators with lessons, and we were able to have a couple FHE´s with the families in our ward this week. Haha, sorry I will try to have more news next week.
BUT... I was able to just read Elder Berthelson´s letter.. That is awesome!!!! Wow- the Holy Ghost will just work with people and am glad for that example of following the promptings of the Spirit. It is really incredible what the Spirit can accomplish if we are willing to listen and act. How cool, AB such an exciting time for B_____ and keep working with him! :) Thank you K, Dad, and Alex for the letters. It is cool to hear of what is going on. I like the news about what is going down in B Rouge aha.. enjoy going to the temple with the Hathaways. Also was really glad for the message K sent about cousin Leona. Very cool what blessings can do. With a last thought, like they said in conference, I challenge/ask that if you already aren´t doing it, ask about the investigators from the missionaries in our ward and pray for them BY NAME. And be their friend on Sunday when they come to church. Put the face to the name. Lots of love! have a great week!

1 Nephi 13:37, November 25th

Hola Familia!!
Everyone thinks that all my parents do is vacation.... Haha! My companion asks every week where you guys are now. It is awesome to hear that everyone is doing well!! How cool that you were able to visit the Woodridge ward and see everyone again. And well done with the Sacrament snacks. The Primary children in our ward had their primary program this past Sunday! It was so cute! All of the children in our ward participated. We had a few investigators and some Less-actives attend. It was a reallly cool experience for everyone!! Of course I thought of Karen who loves the Primary Program.
This week has been a little slow... Some of the most progress with some of our Investigators though! In specific, our two investigators, E___ and E_____ are progressing, and although it has been hard to put a baptisimal date with them, we are really growing to love their family. We had a "Bop-It" competition with them this past week. I hadn´t seen Bop-it in years. And I am a little out of practice- and it was in Spanish. But fun none-the-less. I will try and attatch a photo this next week of them. They are so sweet. Another one of our investigators, M_____, is in the pic that I attatched. The first week in the sector, we contacted her. She is always sitting outside on the benches, So we went over to try and talk to her. She turned to us and started yelling at us and yelling "SOY CATOLICA SOY CATOLICA". I had no clue what she was saying, but Hermana Salazar told me that she was cursing us out. And since then, she would always turn away when we walked by. We learned that she did that to a lot of people. But then one day, she totally turned around and invited us in. For about a month now, we have been teaching her. She has a hard time learning and understanding, but she loves us now. She is the sweetest lady to us and to everyone else. It just took time and we keep her company because she lives alone. She is so sweet, and was one of the investigators that we brought to church- Everyone said that it was a miricle that we got her to come to our ward, she is that well known. But she was greeting everyone on Sunday and it was a really cool experience.
The Familia T_____ moved this past week. This was the Menos Activa familia that didn´t want us to come at first, but that we were having lessons with. We had our last FHE this past Monday, but they are transferring records and we hope that the Missionaries and ward members will visit them in their new home.

I dont know if I have ever shared this with my family, but my favorite scripture is in 1 Nephi 13:37. Until we participate with the Obra Missional, we will never comprehend the joy we will receive. By the gift and power of the Holy Ghost, we will make our message of gran gozo (great joy) known. Its not easy, nor will it ever be easy. pero vale la pena (but worth it)
We won't understand the difference we have made in the lives of others until this life is over.
Les amo y quiero que Uds estén bien esta semana. No tenemos un "Thanksgiving" pero estoy agradecida por una familia que es fuerte en el Evangelio y quiere hacer todo lo posible para compartir este gozo con los demás. (Not have a "Thanksgiving" but I am thankful for a family that is strong in the gospel and wants to do everything possible to share this joy with others)
.Make sure you tell everyone I love them this Thanksgiving. Such a blessing you get to reunite with everyone once again.
Chao po,
